Formula Pi blog

For the second week in a row, we were treated to some excellent racing from all competitors!

The four heats from this week were certainly packed with excitement, interesting tactics, and big improvements for multiple competitors. The winner of each heat scored more than 30 laps, I think this is the first time since Formula Pi started that this has happened!

If you don't want to know the results because you haven't seen the feed, the catch up with the links below, and for the results and leaderboard please scroll on!

Just a short post to alert people to a change to the rules.

In the event of a tie for positions, in the first instance, the total number of laps completed will be used to decide ordering. If there is still a tie on points and number of laps completed, the maximum number of laps completed in any point scoring round will be used.

The full testing session can be rewatched below, check the video description for time stamped entries for each robot.

The results are in... And here they are!

Thank you to all of the competitors who took the time to fill in the short survey we published a few weeks ago. This blog post is intended to share the results of that survey, and address the common themes that were raised by multiple competitors and let you know what's next for Formula Pi.

There were 18 respondents out of a possible 31 respondents.

The first seven questions were used to gauge feelings about Formula Pi and the last three were designed to give free feedback.

Last night's Formula Pi Grand Final certainly did not disappoint! With five such strong competitors making the final, the race set itself up to be a tight race to the finish line.

Whilst it might not be as warm and toasty as the sweltering 30+ degree days seen in the middle of this Formula Pi season, there is still some hot racing action to be had in this week's Season Finale! On Wednesday 10th of October at 18:30 BST we'll be running the finals for this season and they promise to be some of the tightest racing we've seen all year.
